Transformation of invoice control system

telecommunication

Project background

  • Orange Polska decided to transform the existing invoice control system (legacy).
  • The legacy system was expensive to maintain and develop, and did not integrate with the organization's modern hardware and software infrastructure (including security).
  • The impetus for the transformation was the rapid growth of required (in the invoicing process) control points - resulting from providing new services to the company's customers.
  • Instead of investing in an archaic legacy solution, it was decided to build a modern and universal document control system.

IT Matter approach

  • The project was divided into two parallel parts:
    • universal document control system - meeting the requirements of modernity and easy expansion (the user defines the control process himself
    • analysis and recording of existing processes (algorithms) of invoice control - a team of IT Matter analysts together with the client described the business logic.
  • Then the control processes were defined in the universal document control system, creating "Invoice Control Module" for Orange Polska.
  • The system was based on modern and open-source technologies (containerization, REST)

Customer value

The Customer has received a universal solution, with the possibility of using it also in other document control processes (not only invoices

Flexible data model makes it independent from changes in the analyzed data to a large extent

The Customer is able to add new documents to be controlled, define processes and implement control algorithms

The solution can be quickly extended with new functionalities (e.g. types of results presentation or data export types
